Sinopsis
Tras el asesinato de su padre yakuza, el joven Kikuo es adoptado por un maestro de Kabuki. Aunque no pertenece a ese mundo, se entrena como onnagata (actor de roles femeninos), desatando una rivalidad de décadas con el hijo del maestro. La película narra su obsesivo viaje para convertirse en un "Tesoro Nacional Viviente", un camino que le exigirá sacrificar su identidad y a todos sus seres queridos.
Synopsis
Nagasaki, 1964: Following the death of his Yakuza father, 15-year-old Kikuo is taken under the wings of a famous Kabuki actor. Alongside Shunsuke, the actor’s only son, he decides to dedicate himself to this traditional form of theatre. For decades, the two young men grow and evolve together – and one will become the greatest Japanese master of the art of Kabuki.
