Sinopsis
Cristina es una muchacha dulce y tierna, querida por todos en “El Platanal”, una hermosa hacienda propiedad de Severiano Álvarez, su padre, hombre recio de campo y de gran carácter. En este lugar trabaja como capataz Diego Hernández, un criollo fuerte que se ha enamorado de Cristina, y ella, ante el amor que siente por Diego, se entrega a él. Cristina confiesa a su padre estar embarazada y que ama a Diego. Severiano ordena que Cristina y Raquela, la sirvienta, se vayan a la capital y ahí tenga a la criatura. Por los manejos de Federico Rivero, la pequeña María del Carmen regresa a la hacienda como hija de Raquela. Cristina, por estar cerca de su hija, se ve obligada a casarse con Federico, un hombre despiadado y ambicioso. Y de ahora en adelante ella será para todos su “madrina”. Federico provoca un accidente en el que Cristina queda ciega; así, la fortuna de ella pasa a sus manos.
Synopsis
