Sinopsis
Kamui es un ninja del período Edo durante el gobierno del cuarto miembro del Shogunato Tokugawa, Ietsuna Tokugawa entre 1651 y 1680, que decide desertar de su clan. Al hacerlo es acosado por los demás miembros del mismo; quienes quieren matarlo por considerarlo un traidor. Por eso Kamui debe vagar constantemente por Japón para escapar de ellos y usar toda su inteligencia y grandes habilidades para sobrevivir. En el transcurso de la serie Kamui comienza a sufrir de paranoia como consecuencia de su situación de perseguido. Kamui desconfía de la gente al creer que todos ellos quieren asesinarlo. La serie transcurre en tonos grises y un ambiente triste, quizás reflejando la miseria, pobreza y violencia de este período en especial de la historia de Japón.
Synopsis
Kamui is a ninja from the Edo period who has decided to leave his clan. After doing so he is pursued relentlessly by the members of his former clan; who consider him to be a traitor and therefore wish to kill him. Kamui then wanders around Japan to escape from them by using his intelligence and great abilities to survive. In the course of the series Kamui begins to suffer from paranoia because of his status as a persecuted man. Kamui then started to believe that everybody wished to murder him and became distrusting of everyone he came across.
